James City Service Authority customers who have experienced a hardship due to COVID-19 and are delinquent on their account have until Oct. 22 to apply for assistance.Assistance is limited to $600 per customer, and funds will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. The James City Service Authority received $315,000 in federal funds earlier this year to assist customers with delinquent bills.JCSA General Manager Doug Powell stated, “We urge customers with delinquent accounts to apply for assistance now as this type of assistance is unlikely to be available in the future. The application process is simple, and the funds can be a significant help for anyone for whom COVID-19 has created a financial hardship.
