Women in Venture ConferenceWomen in Venture – Raising Awareness. Raising Capital. Raising the Bar for Women.

This half-day conference will dive deeper into topics related to women in venture, including keynote sessions, panels and breakout sessions tailored to each attendee's investment experience and entrepreneurship journey.

Expect national names, like keynote speaker Lara Merriken, as well as regional expertise from the I-64 corridor. We will also highlight Virginia success stories and provide a platform to showcase up and coming talent.

Keynote speaker: Lara Merriken is the embodiment of the expression: “Anything is possible.” As founder of LÄRABAR, Merriken created health food made only of fruits, nuts and spices. Early on in the development of LÄRABAR, naysayers didn't think she had a chance. Merriken, undeterred, never lost sight of her vision. She set up shop in a small Denver duplex, her manufacturing equipment limited to a rolling pin and a Cuisinart. Five years later, LÄRABAR was a top-selling energy bar and sold to General Mills, where Merriken serves today as an adviser and face of the brand.
