This program is a federally funded rent-subsidy program that provides ongoing rental assistance to qualified lower-income families or individuals.
Participants lease privately owned single-family homes, town homes, apartments, and manufactured homes. Eligible families or individuals must complete a preliminary application to be placed on the waiting list for assistance. At this time, our Section 8 waiting list is closed. Time and date for waiting list openings will be posted in local media outlets. The above complexes work with the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8). We do not keep a listing of private landlords who are willing to accept Section 8.
The Housing Unit also offers the opportunity for voucher participants to enroll in the Family Self-Sufficiency Program.

Rental Tax Credit
Provides state tax credits to landlords who offer rental property at reduced rates to elderly or handicapped individuals.
